With all of its quirks and amazing writing, it was hard to think that Valve could top Portal. But they did.
Portal 2's puzzles are incredibly varied and challenging. It's characters are more fleshed out. The world is expanded. The performances are incredible. It doesn't lean on familar jokes - it takes everything that was great about the first Portal and made it more ambitious.
